Review Process
Peer Review Process:
Komunikan: Jurnal Komunikasi dan Dakwah applies a rigorous peer review process to ensure the quality, validity, and academic integrity of all published articles. The following describes the stages of the review process:
1. Initial Screening Upon submission, the Editor-in-Chief conducts an initial screening to assess whether the manuscript fits the journal's scope, meets basic formatting requirements, and complies with academic writing standards. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria will be returned to the author without further review.
2. Plagiarism Check All manuscripts that pass the initial screening will be checked for plagiarism using a plagiarism detection tool. Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding the acceptable threshold will be rejected or returned to the author for revision.
3. Double-Blind Peer Review Manuscripts that pass the plagiarism check will be assigned to at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise in the subject area. Komunikan uses a double-blind review system, meaning that the identities of both the authors and the reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review process.
4. Review Outcomes Based on the reviewers' evaluations, the Editor will notify the author of one of the following decisions:
- Accepted: the manuscript is accepted for publication as is
- Minor Revision: the manuscript requires minor revisions before acceptance
- Major Revision: the manuscript requires significant revisions and will be re-reviewed
- Rejected: the manuscript does not meet the journal's standards for publication
5. Revision and Final Decision Authors are given a specified period to revise and resubmit their manuscript. The revised manuscript will be re-evaluated by the editor and, if necessary, returned to the reviewers. The final decision rests with the Editor-in-Chief.
6. Review Duration The review process takes approximately 1 to 4 weeks from the date of submission, depending on the availability of reviewers and the complexity of the manuscript.
